This Life is not Yours
A few minutes before my birthday on April 18, I woke to pray and praise God as my custom is on my birthday, only to be informed of the sad demise of a close soon-to-be bride. Earlier that day, she had gone for her dress fittings and was supposed to pay for it, the day after, little did she know, she would sleep and not see the light of the next day. To admit that I was weakened by the news would be an understatement. I was broken and it took me time to be able to absorb the news and continue with my prayers.
This life is not yours and it can be recalled any day. The question is, is it the will of God that we die prematurely? Certainly not. His words said with long life, He will satisfy us. God wants us to live a fulfilled life. He wants us to enjoy life to its fullest while fulfilling our purpose. So why do people die young if it’s not God’s will? There are spiritual contentions and battles every day. Light and darkness are in a constant fierce competition to overthrow each other and if you do not take hold of the spiritual realm, the enemy can strike. Particularly, people with great purpose are the first target, the devil is willing to fight them by all means so they don’t live to fulfill their purpose to benefit mankind.
Every good gift is from God but the devil is notorious to bring evil and wickedness which is why sometimes, things may not go according to the initial order of God.
There are people that still say It’s my life, I can live it as I please. Sorry darling, it’s not your life. If it is yours, you will be able to determine every single thing that happens to you but you cannot. You cannot stay on earth forever. Remember, your great-grandfather is only but a memory. He left and so will you someday. You are accountable to God and one day you will have an open dialogue of your experience on earth with him.
What’s this post about?
It’s simply a call to not live life casually.
To be intentional about your life.
To focus on God and to let God be in charge of your life.
To create impact while you can.
To run this race with the aim of finishing strong.
To put a smile on people’s faces as much as you can.
To be remembered for good.
