Get on That Stage

I remember the first time I was asked to address a large crowd of people. I was apprehensive. I tried everything I could to dissuade the organisers from choosing me to make that speech but all efforts were futile. When I realized that fidgeting would solve no problem, I decided to brace up and accept the challenge. In the end, it turned out well.

Today, I will be focusing on the stage that God has put you to oversee. That bar he has raised for your sake to embrace, lead and influence the existing state of affairs. You could be a scientist,an educationist, a teacher, an entertainer, a musician, an actor, a medical professional, a finance professional, a politician or any profession, wherever you are , God wants you to be a kingdom representative. He wants you to reflect christ in your profession.

There is a constant war between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light. The devil is forceful and unashamed about winning more people to his domain. As Christians, we must not faint, we have to be bold to say No, to ungodly policies. We have to choose to respond when decisions are being made in our offices. We ought to avoid staying neutral, or saying nothing because God called us into our profession to be a light and we must showcase that light.

How the world turns out for us today and for generations after us will be based on decisions made today and the extent of our permissions. It is okay to pray for changes in our houses and places of worship. However, we must choose to act in the best capacity that supports kingdom advancement wherever we are. We are not called to be Christians only in church but outside of church, remember we are in the world but not of the world.

Sometimes, it may be discouraging to choose to be Christ-centered in all circumstances in your profession because of some financial constraints. For example, the bills need to be paid and focusing on gospel music may not bring sufficient funds to cater for your needs. This can be really scary and tempting, especially when there are juicy offers from worldly recognised labels. If we can choose to trust God in the process, be patient with Him, stay with Him. He will meet all our needs.

The tendency to change professions for financial benefit is also another striker that deviates us from our calling. God may be calling you to be a teacher because He knows you can influence children in the right manner and overall, raise generations. However, because teachers are meager earners, it may be discouraging to grow your career in education. Please, don’t swap roles if you have no leading to. I know it is easier to say but please don’t. If you are sure, you are where God wants you to be, remain there. He will not leave you stranded.

The world needs you to mount that stage.

God wants you to stand tall and stand for Him
